Technically, there is no limitation on when you can plant your cedar trees; you can plant them in any season as long as you are capable of digging a hole; however, the best time to plant your cedars is before winter. Planting in the winter means having to deal with winter conditions and frozen ground. Not only is this more strenuous on you, but it also affects the health of your cedars. Your trees need to be able to take root properly, below freezing conditions can hinder the rooting process and affect the overall health of your tree if not properly transplanted.
Don’t forget, cedars naturally grow in a “wet” habitat. Be sure they get plenty of water within the first few weeks of planting them and throughout the year.
We install cedars year round so if you can’t stand another day having to look at your neighbours RV, give us a call . . . instant privacy awaits you!
